1. Who we are

SEGEN TECHNOLOGIE SAS (“SEGEN”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in Bogotá, Colombia (NIT 901.547.340-6) with an office in Miami, Florida (13410 SW 128th Street, FL 33186). We build software and AI tools for businesses and operate the website segen.tech.

For personal data collected through this website and our own communication channels, SEGEN is the data controller. You can reach us at info@segen.tech.

2. What we collect

Information you give us: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, company and the content of your messages when you write to us, request a demo or ask for a quote.
Conversations on WhatsApp and Messenger: when you message our WhatsApp number or Facebook Page, we receive your number or profile identifier, your name as shown on the platform and the messages you send.
Usage data: pages visited, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and a tracking code attached to clicks on our WhatsApp buttons so we know which page the conversation started from.

3. How we use it, and why

To answer your questions, prepare quotes and run demos (performing a contract or taking steps you ask for before one).
To operate, secure and improve the website, and to understand which pages bring customers (our legitimate interests).
To send you information about our products when you have asked for it or where the law allows. You can opt out at any time.
To measure and run advertising where you have given consent when the law requires it.
To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.

4. WhatsApp, Messenger and AI

Our WhatsApp channel runs on the WhatsApp Business Platform from Meta, and our Messenger channel on Meta’s Messenger Platform. Meta processes those conversations under its own terms and privacy policy. Replies on our own channels may be written with the help of artificial intelligence providers, who process the message text to generate the answer. A person on our team may read conversations to follow up.

When our customers use our software with their own customers, SEGEN acts as a service provider (data processor) on their instructions, and their privacy notice applies to that data.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

service providers that help us run the business, such as hosting, email, analytics, messaging platforms (Meta) and AI providers;
authorities, when the law requires it;
a successor company, if SEGEN is merged or sold, with the same protections.

6. International transfers

We operate from Colombia and the United States, and our providers may process data in other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. Conversations and contact details of prospects are deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed, and on request as described in section 9.

8. Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit and monitoring of our servers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict some processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority.

European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR): the rights above, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete and correct your information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information.
Colombia (Law 1581 of 2012): the right to know, update, correct and delete your data and to revoke consent, with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio as supervisory authority.
